Kaiwara
Date: 17-Nov-13
We wanted to go on a short trek near Bangalore and decided to visit Kaiwara, a small town in the Chikkaballapur district. Before finalizing the plan, we checked with Sudheer to see if he would like to join us, and he happily agreed.
After watching a movie at Garuda Swagath Mall in the morning, Thilak and I had lunch in Jayanagar and started our journey at around 2:30 PM.

Reaching Kaiwara
We met Sudheer on MG Road and then headed towards Kaiwara. Taking the KR Puram route, we enjoyed a pleasant drive along wide roads with very little traffic. The journey itself was relaxing and enjoyable.
At around 4:15 PM, we reached Kaiwara town. As soon as we got out of the car, we noticed a temple nearby. In front of the temple stood an impressive arch depicting the five Pandavas. This arch also marked the entrance to the hill we had come to trek.
Climbing the hill
We began our trek at around 4:30 PM. The path consisted of well-laid steps, making the climb relatively easy. However, I was feeling quite tired because I was not used to trekking and had not eaten a proper lunch that day. While Thilak and Sudheer climbed comfortably, I took my time and paused frequently along the way.
Fortunately, the stunning views made every stop worthwhile. We spent time taking photographs and admiring the scenery as we climbed higher. The landscape around Kaiwara looked beautiful from every angle.
It took us about an hour to reach the top. By then, I was completely exhausted, so we found a comfortable rock to sit on and relax. We spent some time taking photographs of each other and enjoying the panoramic view of the entire Kaiwara town below. The cool breeze and peaceful surroundings made the experience even more memorable.

A beautiful sunset
By the time we reached the summit, it was almost sunset. We decided to stay and watch the evening sky transform into shades of gold and orange. At around 5:45 PM, the sun slowly began to descend, creating a breathtaking view. The scenery became more beautiful with every passing minute, and we captured some wonderful sunset photographs. After enjoying the sunset, we started our descent at around 6:00 PM and reached the base of the hill by 6:30 PM.
Before heading back, we visited the famous Yoginarayana Mutt. The mutt was exceptionally clean, peaceful, and well maintained. There were many devotees visiting the temple, adding to the spiritual atmosphere of the place.
We began our return journey to Bangalore at around 7:00 PM, once again taking the KR Puram route. We reached Bangalore by approximately 8:30 PM.
Kaiwara turned out to be a wonderful destination for a short and easy trek. With its scenic views, peaceful surroundings, and beautiful sunset points, it offers a perfect escape from the city’s busy routine.
