Nandi Hills Part 2 and Devanahalli Fort
Date: 22-Feb-14
It was about a month since we went for a trip. We were busy preparing for our wedding. We decided to have a break from all these wedding things and go for a small trip. Nandi Hills was the first place that came to our mind. I thought let’s end our pre-wedding trips by going to a place where we fell in love :-).
Nandi Hills
This time, we decided to go by bike. Thilak started from HSR Layout at 5.15 AM and reached near my PG at 5.45 AM. It was not very cold in the morning and this pleasant weather made the ride beautiful. We took Hebbal > Devanahalli route to reach Nandi Hills. When we were nearing Nandi Hills, we saw that the hill was almost completely covered with fog. Thilak assured me that my dream of watching foggy Nandi Hills would come true today. I was damn happy. Thilak rode as fast as he could, but we could reach the top of the hill only at 7 AM. The sun had already come up at that time and it was no more foggy. I felt slightly disappointed, but decided to try my luck next time. I do not know why I don’t get chance to see the foggy Nandi Hills :-(. I guess we will have to start from home at 4.30 AM.
We parked the bike in the parking lot, bought the entrance ticket, and started walking towards the hill top. It was too crowded that day. We reached the hilltop at around 7.30 AM. The view was same as we had seen in our first trip. Clouds, clouds and clouds everywhere. One will never get bored to watch this beauty. The place was highly crowded, but the crowd was decent. We decided to explore the place completely as we had enough time. Wherever we could find a path, we went through that and took some amazing photos. We had a very nice photo session that day. After some time, we had breakfast at the KSTDC hotel, explored the place for some more time. Then, we just sat in the park and chit chatted for hours. We had lunch at the same KSTDC hotel at around 1.30 PM. After lunch, we went to Nehru Vishranthi Dhama, spent some time in the park, visited Tippu Sultan Summer palace, and started back from there at around 5.00 PM.
Devanahalli Fort
While returning from Nandi Hills, on the way, we visited Devanahalli fort. The entire Devanahalli village was inside the fort walls. It was very calm and beautiful. After the fort, we visited Tippu’s birth place. We thought that one palace or some other monument would be there in that place. But, there was nothing except one small Mantap.
At around 6.00 PM, we started our journey back to Bangalore. We reached Jayanagar at around 8.00 PM via Devanahalli > Hebbal > St. Marks Road.
This trip was a nice break for both of us and gave us a beautiful memory of our last pre-wedding trip.

A very informative and interesting post, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the compliments..
Hey very nice and informative blog. Me and my sister are also planning to visit Nandi Hills on our activa. Was wondering if the hill roads were safe to ride there and you rode bike/activa? Did you guys switched off the engine and rode on downhill there? Need some tips, Regards, Kusum
Thanks. It is advisable not to go downhill with engine off. If you are good in bike/scooter riding definitely you can go. Don’t try if you are still a amateur. And yes we went by bike.
Great post. I have been there a few months back, nice place
Thanks for visiting Steps Together..
