Aroor – Udupi Unexplored
Usually when a place gets famous as a tourist destination, slowly and steadily that place changes to accommodate the tastes of the visiting tourists. Over the period of time the place loses its original charm for which it got famous in the first place and this process goes unnoticed. Sometimes it is necessary to spend more time in a particular place to actually experience it. Aroor is one such place in Udupi to get the actual surreal feel of the life of Coastal Karnataka Village. Nothing Fancy, nothing fake. We have a special place for this place in our heart as it is Ranjani’s hometown.
Aroor is a small village in Udupi district of Karnataka. It is 16 km from Udupi town and 6 km from Brahmavara. With nearly 750 families residing, the population is 3,600.
Known to most by the lord Vishnumoorthy temple, located at the center of the village. Whole place comes alive during the month of May when the annual fest held in this temple.
Aroor is located next to Madisalu river, tributary of Suvarna river. A narrow footbridge built across this river connects this place with another village Belmar. This place offers serene ambiance during morning and evening hours.
Located amid of the lush greenery, this place is a fine example of how human and nature can live together in harmony.
