Kaiwara

Date: 17-Nov-13
We wanted to go for a small trek near Bangalore and decided to go to Kaiwara (Chikkballapur district). We checked with Sudheer if he is willing to come with us. He said “OK”. After watching movie in the morning in Garuda Swagath mall, Thilak and I had lunch in Jayanagar and started at around 2.30 PM.

We met Sudheer in MG Road and started our journey towards Kaiwara. We took KR Puram road to reach Kaiwara. We enjoyed our ride through wide and empty road. At around 4.15 PM, we reached Kaiwara town. As soon as we got down from the car, we saw a temple. In front of the temple, there is an arch which depicting five Pandavas. This arch is the entrance to the hill that we wanted to trek. We started climbing at around 4.30 PM. There were steps to climb. I was feeling very tired as I was not used to trek like this before and also I did not have proper lunch that day. Thilak and Sudhir were climbing easily. We were stopping in between and taking photos. The view while climbing the hill was beautiful. It took us around 1 hr to reach the top of the hill. By the time, we reached the top, I was completely exhausted. So, we sat on the rock and started taking each other’s photos. We could see the entire Kaiwara town from the top. It was spectacular. Cool wind was blowing. We enjoyed our moment there. It was a sunset time then.

We decided to leave after watching the sunset. At around 5.45 PM, sun began to go down and the scene was becoming more and more beautiful. We took some amazing photos of the sunset, started climbing down at around 6.00 PM after the sunset and reached the base of the hill at 6.30 PM. We visited the famous Yoginaranyan Mutt. The Mutt was very neatly maintained and there were many devotees. We started our journey back to Bangalore at around 7.00 PM, took the KR Puram route, and reached Bangalore at around 8.30 PM.
Kaiwara is a beautiful, easy-to-trek place which one can reach easily and have fun.
